Mara Rose is a conversation about learning to live from the inside out.
My life blew up and I am slowly creating a new life.
I walk the often challenging path of self-healing.
I am exploring new ways of being, re-imagining dreams.
I am white-knuckle scared. A lot.
My deepest hope is the stuff I write about might be of help to you in some way.
Perhaps, you are healing your life as well.
I want for this space to be a safe place for all who visit. A place of kindness and compassion. A place for reflection. And resources for healing Soul and Spirit.
I am retired from a career in cancer nursing. I achieved my career goal of performing bone marrow transplants for cancer treatment. One of my patients was the first person in my State to receive another person’s life saving bone marrow. I was honored beyond words to serve him.
I write with a Beginner’s Mind. About stuff I am learning–and re-learning. Sometimes over and over. And with greater and greater humility.
I am on a journey to discover meaning and purpose, especially as my life has become more challenging.
I think about stuff like what it means to heal, even when there is no cure.
I write about cultivating compassion and simplicity, easing into meditation and yoga. As this blog develops, I will also write about great books, photography and art, creating this blog, regaining health and fitness, savoring life, travel, and what it means to be of service.
I possess an adventurous spirit, a questing mind–and yet, am a highly sensitive person. I love sharing what I discover.
I am passionate about Arabian horses and riding, love dogs and all animals.
I live to eat, and once did this wild and crazy thing–whitewater rafting at 9,000 feet in the Hindu Kush Mountains of NW Pakistan.
Welcome…
And now, please tell me about you….

Samyak,
Thank you very much!
I just turned them back on. I have been writing from such a personal place, I turned the comments off out of shyness.
Hi Mara, I enjoyed reading the first section of your blog.
I’m glad you added me to your Google+ Circles! I particularly liked your post about gossip and wondered if I could quote from it? The horse world needs to hear your words, I think, and I love the idea of a 30-day challenge to stop gossip!
Thanks very much, nice to meet you! I hope you can reach me?

Hi Fran,
Thank you so much, and welcome! I love your Hoof Report–so much great information.
My gossip post was inspired by the horse world. I tried to email you and got bounced. I will add my gmail address to Google+, and you can email me there with contact info.

Hello! I have been reading your blog and I think highly of it. I find the ideals behind this blog inspiring and uplifting and worthy of an award that symbolizes these ideals. I have nominated you for the Liebster blog award given to blogs with less than 200 followers who deserve a little more recognition.
There are a few simple rules that go along with the award: they are as follows as passed down to me.
1.Give a shout out to the blogger who nominated you by linking back to their blog.
2. Nominate 5 other blogs that have less than 200 followers.
3. Spread the good blog karma.
Lastly, don’t forget to add the Liebster blog award image to your post.
